"I am of the other" (From Women Who Run With Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes)

The medicine stories of the Selkie can be found in the most Northern reaches of our lands and waters, where seals and people are woven together in life and lore.

Most of you are familiar with the Seal maiden turned mother, and how she lost her pelt and lived as a human for 7 years before returning to the sea.

It's a story of the cyclical nature of woman, of the wild psyche within, and of losing and finding one's essential essence again.

May these beings remind us to return home again and again. And that what was once lost can always be found.

Selkie #1 is a sweet faced star gazer who carries the blooming gardens of the deep in her bones. She loves to swim in the celestial kelp forests and knows her heart is always true. She stands 8 inches tall, has moveable flippers and legs and scrappy upcycled cotton clothing in which to swim. Her hair is multi-colored sea-hued yarn and she is filled with sheep's wool.

Selkie #2 is a serene brown-eyed doe of the deep who carries circle magic in 3s. She holds the vitality of sea leafy green and knows where to find the night sky below. She stands 8 inches tall, has moveble flippers and legs and scrappy batik cotton clothing. Her hair is multicolored wool yarn and she is filled with sheep's wool.

Selkie #3 is a sassy green-eyed maiden of lore with hair of golden wool yarn. She moves with the cycles of inner growth, and her wisdom shines as brightly as the sun. She stands 8 inches tall, has moveable flippers and legs and scrappy batik cotton clothing. She is sewed in cotton and filled with sheep's wool.

Selkie #4 is a soft-hearted weaver of rainbows who carries prism magic and the ability to broadcast her light to dark places. Her far-reaching gaze holds a spark from beneath, and she is loyal and true. She stands 8 inches tall and has moveable flippers and legs and scrappy batik cotton clothing. Her hair is wool yarn and she is filled with sheep's wool.

Selkie #5 is the sweetest of sweet, and she knows how to brew tea straight from starlight. Her soft glow will fill you up with tenderness and delight and she seeks a companion who knows her sea born wildness. She stands 8 inches tall and has moveable flippers and legs and scrappy upcycled cotton clothing. Her hair is wool yarn and she is filled with sheep's wool.

These dolls are made for gentle hands ages 3+ or to be adored by the child within.

I create with a mix of finesse and ease, often leaving hems raw and clothing items scrappy so I can use my time on beautifully detailed embroidery.

Each doll I make is one-of-a-kind to reflect back the unique nature of every person on this earth.

If you connect with a doll, there is a strong chance you share something special.

Enjoy xoxo Gianna
